must be more room in the back seat! ponchos generally had a longer wheelbase....also a different floor with a smaller tunnel
Here's an easy one. on a fully ***embled SBC, if you don't know the casting numbers, how can you tell a 400 from the rest of the small blocks?
if it has 3 freeze plugs on each side it's a 400. some 400s only had two, so you could look at the damper for the balance cutout, ***uming it's still external balanced.
Do you need a Switch pitch transmission for the switch pitch converter, or can it be retrofitted into something like a 4L80-E? Could you modify the trans so that the lockup solenoid switched a SP converter instead of locking up a standard one?
I don't know, usually GM casting numbers are a long number, 6 to 9 digits, without any hyphens in the middle. Pictures and measurements and bearing part numbers would help!
Squirrel, I have 3 daughters ranging in age from 20 to 9, the twenty year old has been dating an NHRA Top Fuel Racer for 4 years (he is 23) BTW. I used to kick his *** in TAD. Should I encourage the the others to be involved with racers, and if so what catagory should I (they) pick them from? I'm sure this is easier than the other technical questions you have been besieged with. Please help. i dont want the girls to end up like their Mom.( We have been married 23.5 years) Thanks in advance fer your wisdom
Seeing as some of the questions have come up referencing the Ford GT40's. What does the 40 stand for in GT40?
Did the Chamberlain have 2 pistons in a single bore, with the crowns travelling towards each other to create compression, like the German Heinkel bomber and the knocker Commer?
What is the major difference between an Australian '34 Ford fordor and an American '34 Ford fordor ? ( besides the position of the steering wheel ) What is the major difference between a European '32 Ford tudor and an American '32 Ford tudor ? Now here,s a real tech question for ya'. If a 1970 DAF coupe with a 4 cyl 1300cc engine can go 100mph in a forward direction how fast can it go in a reverse direction ? Also please tell us what your answer is based on. Metalshapes knows the answer to my last question. BTW the last GT40 question is easy but i,m not giving any hints.
Couldn't sleep. Been up all night. Spent 45 minutes reading 10 pages of Squirrel stumping tech. Feel much smarter. Going back to bed until my alarm goes off and then hitting the snooze because I feel so much smarter I can break the time space continuum and make it to work long before I get there.
Not what I heard about the GT40: It was because someone has taken the rights to the name and offered it back to Ford for $1Million and they said 'NO.' Hence, GT. Also, Time Space Continuum wins out, I was late...
I have three of the new ones, a red one, a blue one, and a green one; all three are about 44 inches tall. My original white one with blue stripes is exactly 40 inches tall. Yeah, right! I read it in a magazine, may be wrong.
there are grey squirrels , black squirrels , fox squirrels, red squirrels, tufted squirrels .. white squirrels ... but what are the ones on the road that are flat?
come on now squirrel .. the list for flat ones should be long do lost family relations make you choke up a bit.. i was expecting the truth here...
The 4l80E uses a lockup converter, so there's no need. just get a higher stall lockup converter and you essentially have a switch pitch. the pump cover (stator support) is quite a bit different on the SP transmissions
How many bricks did it take to complete my house? You know this one. Hint...I can't punctuate worth a damn.
When I travelled to Australia and Europe, I didn't see any early fords, unfortunately. And I've never rented a DAF, only "late model" Fords and the odd Fiat and Citroen. So, the questions on these cars really do stump me. Same with the questions about exotics like the GT40, I know more about Pintos than I do about them.
When sitting behind the wheel of a 1952 Nash Amb***ador, with the key in the ignition - how do you start the engine? good luck
