judging how Dave's GT sits next to Barretts truck, I'd guess it really is about 44 inches tall. (Dave has a couple old Fords also...)
the buick I know, they had that little vacuum switch on the gas pedal. push the gas down, the engine starts, the vacuum pulls something out of the way so the starter won't engage next time you push the pedal down.
i had a 52 buick riv cpe .. used to make all p***engers put both hands on the headliner like i was doing so it would start ... or open and close thier door twice ... or hit/ touch the right spot on the dash it was a fun car
Don't know what's right on the 40" thing...I don't think that would have stopped them from calling it a GT40 even if it is 44"! I mean, look at what GM did with the GTO or worse the MALIBU!! Can I have a ride?
First hand experience has revealed: 1.You don't need sand. 2.You probably don't need a headlight switch. 3.You can't ever ever stump the squirrel.
Yes. A guy in OKC does 'em or did 'em. Wilsons Transmission service (405)794-0902. And yes you have to have the 400 trans,no it won't work in anything else that I'm aware of.
yeah, you got me! (in case anyone is wondering, it was a leaking master cylinder, letting brake fluid go into the intake when you step on the brakes, model40 pm'd me with the answer)
The simple answer for the GT and GT40 issue was the height. While trying to stay faithful (********!!) to the original concept they decided that, as the car was in fact taller than the real cars they could not call it the GT40 and the GT44 sounded hokey.
Oh, Oh, pick ME!!! 100 mph. The DAF's used a CVT, continuously variable transmission. And I didn't look that up either!!
42 is correct, but 7 will work. Pants are not near as important as a towel, but acceptable (judges ruling). Opposed pistons are correct, Sir! 1100cc supercharged 2 cycle w/8pistons.Bottom crank stroke is 80mm x 62.5mm bore, which controls exhaust ports. Top crank stroke is 25mm x 35mm bore and controls intake ports. Top rods are 2" long and bottom rods are stock model A. Roots supercharger and large SU feed it. 90 hp at 5800rpm. Very impressive. When is somebody gonna make tensegrity spheres? We have the materials, and everybody loves clouds.
Close, but not the answer I was looking for..... A 1955-1957 Safari has a sweet heart dip just like the 55-57 Chevy/Pontiac hardtops, were as the Nomads do not.
that's neat, I've not stared at a safari long enough, obvoiusly! looks like they might have used a 2dr sedan quarter on it, since they didn't have any of their own wagons to borrow one from, eh?
i had a 55 tudoor poncho wagon (no side dip) it basicly was a 55 chev210 wagon with a poncho front clip you could exchange the tailites..and make it into a delivery rear door easy
Two stoopid Euro-trash questions, my small rodentia- Name the only two constuructors two win LeMans three years in a row and- What side of the steering column is the key on a Prsche 911 and why?
Close- Jag and Audi- Ford won three times, but not consecutively. Key is on the left side of the steering column so that when at LeMans, the driver can be turning the key to start the motor before he gets his **** in the seat, after running accross the track for the traditional LeMans start.
Here's one for the Chevy fans... What / Where did Louis Chevrolet get his inspiration for the 'bowtie'logo???
I've got an actual question. Can you tell me the rotating and recipricating pecentages that I would need to balance my 1971 B.S.A. Lightning 650 crank and rods?
no, I can't. See if you can find a machine shop that does a lot of british bike motors...there's gotta be a few guys who know.
