Continental Inline 6 Engine

    I saved this old beast from the s**** heap this week. The 1951 firetruck was driven to the lot where it was being cut up. The guys were getting ready to burn, for the second day when I arrived. The owner had tried to sell it for a while but didn't find any takers, so he decided to s**** it out. I just could not see letting this good running engine & transmission go to be s****ped. I thought it would be a great drive train for a Traditional Hauler project. I've done some research on Continental engines, but I'm not even sure what size engine it is yet. Here are some photo's.

    It looks like someone got crazy with the cleaner and removed most of the information from the plate. Dumb move.

    Some of those had a huge displacement. More research is required! I'd look on some vintage fire truck sites. They also had a certain sound to them, I recall this from parades when I was a kid.
