Since I have owned my 39 Ford Convertible sedan I have yet to see another one around my area. I have seen them on the web. But I am curious to see how many guys on the HAMB own have one. This is my little baby.

Really that sounds good. I am really considering about a Mustang II for mine. With these you can get away with them because you don't see the axle really at all.

    Hi Sawzall,
Nice conversion of your sedan in a convertible sedan!
I have a 1936 Fordor (***embled in Belgium) wich I want to cut up to a convertible sedan too! Can you please tell me wich reinforcements you have made to avoid that the body plies together and that the doors still open and close properly? All help is welcome!

    i can..

essentially in my car I built a substructure inside the car, on top of the floor.. while in other cars this would cause an issue.. when going ******* it doesnt seem to affect anything.

additionally I built a "bulkhead" behind the front seat, the real cars had a seatback that was "part of" the car.. I essentially built the same.. as such my seat doesnt MOVE forward or aft, but both my wife and I are able to drive with relative comfort

I have been toying with the idea of a "dual cowl" and may do that soon..

pm me with any other questions

    Hi Sawzall,
Thanks a lot about your information and your beautifull pics. Do you have maybe some detailed pics about the substructure on the floor and the bulkhead behind the seat. Did you reinforce the door openings with gussets in the corners?
I have found by the way a nice site about 1936 Ford convertible sedans: www.36fords.com

It looks as though you're running without top bows because rear cover lies so flat. Do you have the top ***embly for the car? I own a '36 phaeton and know the bows stick up with the top down.

I love 39 4 door converts. Did you know they made 6 1940 4 door converts for the Worlds Fair? That should get some comments. Here is one made from a 4 door sedan with a removable top that was at 40 Ford Day this year. Super workmanship.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Here's my '35 Ford. It's just playing 2nd fiddle to a new house, new boat, kids, etc.. Maybe this winter I'll start it.
