SOLD! To a great Hamber. Thanks, "Doc" Here is a neat old hot rod. It was built in the 1970s and has been enjoyed ever since. It has "that look" of a 1970s hot rod, or pre-street rod. The coupe body, hood, running boards, and frame are real deal, 1937 Henry Ford steel. The body is quite solid. The doors open and close as they should and fit the body well as does the deck lid. The hood is nice and straight and includes the side panels which not currently installed. The fenders are fiberglass. The chassis was built with a 390 Ford engine, C6 transmission, 9" Ford rear end, tubular front axle with disc brakes on the front and drums in the rear. For suspension, there are parallel leaf fronts on both ends and tube shocks. The inside was fully finished at the time of the build. The seats are 1960s Thunderbird (?) with a what may be original black and red cloth/vinyl coverings. The carpets are black, the rear storage area was upholstered to match the seats. There is a black vinyl headliner and matching door panels. The dashboard is original 1937, there are original, chrome garnish moldings. The windshield assembly opens as it should and so does the cowl vent. There are a variety of 1970s era gauges including a SW speedometer that all seem to work with the exception of the ammeter. There is a BM shifter and a Wildwood brake booster on the floor. I think the steering box is Ford has been relocated below the frame and has a cool, 1970s era steering wheel on top of it. The paint has a cool old look to it and certainly shows wear including cracks, chips, touch ups, scratches and some peeling. It still holds a nice gloss and will polish up well. The chrome is older but matches the rest of the car. The interior is clean and has a nice, old look about it. All of the glass is good with the exception of one windshield pane. The door glass rolls up and down as it should. The chassis shows 40 years of driving enjoyment but the frame, floor pans, etc look good and solid. The tires look newer and have a lot of life left on them. The car runs and drives nicely. The engine starts easily and runs well. The transmission is smooth, the brakes are responsive and the steering is tight. One headlight is burned out, but the other headlight, tail lights, brake light, turn signals and horn work. This month, the car received a new battery and new MSD ignition box. It has a clear and current MI title and is titled by its original 1937 Ford VIN number. of 183894160. The mileage shown is 27,000 which may be the miles since the car was built. The car can be driven as-is or improved and personalized as you enjoy it. I think it is a great value at 16,500. The car is located near Ann Arbor, Michigan. Give me a call at 734-730-4274 or email directly at: motoringicons@hotmail.com to come and take a test drive and give it a good inspection. I also have about 100 really detailed photos I can email. I am NOT interested in any trades.
