I just recently picked this up at an estate sale here locally. It seems the car was hidden from day light since the late 70's, but passed by everyone everyday. On a call from a friend as to what was seen in "the garage" I had to take a look but I on this day I was kind of afraid cause in my pocket was a fist full of cash set a side for bills. This is what I found.
The car is a all steel 1927 Hupmobile. The car was complete with all the parts labeled in coffee cans. He was taking on a long restoration as some things were done. But what I saw entering that garage was a piece of history....it was to nice to restore as I liked it just the way it was. I'm in the process of some window repair and a bit of stitching, oh that and the top....Here it is today....sorry it's not a hot rod, but you never know do you.
looks really good shape...thats crazy i was talking to a buddy and he is going to look at one today and i had never heard of them before... cool find tho!
congrats on the new set of wheels.. enjoy her just like the owner before wanted but just never got around too. rock on. chris.
Were you also able to score the Hupmobile sign hanging overhead in the first photo? Cool garage art....
I like anything old hot rodded or stock a car that clean that rare & complete would be hard to hack up ! Well maybe not that hard !congatulations !
No I didn't....it was funny, I never saw the sign til the wife looked at the estate sale ad photos, she said did you get the sign too, I said what sign...It must have sold before I got there...I did buy a few other items though....like a USA made floor jack and 6 stands, wish I had more money as the garage was stocked with goodies...I did find the little guy on the left (my avatar) on the shelf in the garage, it has a copyright in 1914 on the back
Here's a few more cool pictures. The first one was the original owner and family (with Dogs) at Daytona Beach in 1930. The next picture was the second owner (same family) the young lady on the left (she acquired it in 1966) she was in her 90's when she passed away earlier this year. It was her estate I got the car from. The third picture is the car today.. Enjoy....
