I’m a big Grumpy fan…even though I own Fords…but this was too cool to p*** up..I’ve owned the signed sweatshirt for awhile, a gift from an old racer friend, but when I saw the pants…had to have em…guy bought em at me***…I payed a lot less than he did…one more thing my kids can throw out when I croak..but I’ll enjoy em till that time comes…
So ... you're telling us you can, at any time you choose, get into Grumpy Jenkins's pants? Alrighty then
Best memory I have of Grumpy is when he nearly ran me over in the pits on his Honda 70 late at night at OCIR
I met him in the 90s at a PRI show in Columbus. Told him his "How to HOT ROD Small Block Chevy Engines" book was a great guide to building big HP in my big block. "That book is pretty old." he said. "Still works, or it did for me." "Glad you got something out of it." Met the lovely Linda Vaughn too. Just a polite handshake. Told my pal I'd totally hit that and he was afraid she heard me. Hope so. Good score Matt...
Well that 27” inseam would be shorts for me…and the 42 waist I’d need a belt..although I might be able to pull this look off..
Only time I ever saw him was in '69, I was 18. He had both the '68 and '69 Camaros at York for a grudge match. After a run he was trying to take the hood off and I asked if I could help. He immediately yelled at me for being too careful laying the hood on the roof. He deserved his nickname.
Ha! He did the same to us - the Flying Dutchman AA/FC team - at Dallas 23 years ago. We were putting everything back in the trailer after a long day when he ZOOMed through the pit area on his mini bike. I looked at my buddy in shock and he said, "We've just been Grumped!"
