    Hello,

I posted recently, an art drawing of a primered truck with no hood and some parts of a motor showing. The image came from a mystery novel I read years ago. At the time, I was reading a James Lee Burke novel about one of my favorite characters, a detective named Dave Robicheaux. In the book called Creole Belle, was a section that made me think of what the hot rod looked like while reading the story. This custom truck was described in such a way that made me think of how it looked driving in the dark wooded areas of the New Orleans area. It was a main character in the story.

Thinking of what the stock model looked like, my imagination took off and I added what I was reading from the story. Lowered rake, powerful motor, black wheels and side exhausts. No hood, but an exposed motor added to the mystery for one of the main characters.
upload_2025-7-10_2-9-46.png The chopped truck was difficult to draw as the proportions of that truck were not easy to see. In my imagination, this is what it looked like and it filled in the memory while reading the story. The owner of the truck was a character called Gretchen Horowitz.

I decided to add some Moon Discs to give it some at***ude and contrast to an old Friday Art project. YRMV

So, your captured photos remind me of trying to draw the truck from memory. Something was difficult as the cab height was not lining up in the original drawing. So, I chopped it and that took on a look of how it should have been built cruising down those narrow lanes. The image was then acceptable to a hot rod guy about the cool truck.
