  2. I've been bitten by the Hotwheel bug. Actually, looking through countless number of those little diecast buggers, I found a treasure hunt that is worth $100+. So spending a few minutes looking at the Hotwheels display, everytime I go to the store, has been fruitful endeaver.

I had around 6,000 all in blister packs, starting late 80's.

Then the flood came. Now I have around 3,000 still in blister packs and my kid has the most complete set of Hot Wheels for hundreds of miles around to play with.

All of my redline stuff was stored elsewhere, no harm there.

I was given one of these a metallic green "Short Order" around '71, living in rural Wales it was a relevation, nothing like this existed here, Matchbox were starting to produce their superfast range but they were rare due I expect to the local popularity of lorries, diggers and farm vehicles. I had no idea what it was based on but chanced upon a copy of "Trucking" magazine at a mates house whose father was into different types of cars, having served abroad with the RAF. All motoring activities that we knew of were confined to, local car rallies, the annual RAC Rally, and the televised Grand Prix races. This gift started my lifelong interest in Ameriacan cars and Hot Rods.

Hot wheels seem to be doing a good job on the cars they are putting out today.

  7. The shaker Nova was $4 at Walmart, I got that one for me to play with at work. I got a bunch of the cheap ones at the stores for my boys.

Got to love'em. Great thing they don't take up as much space in the house as my other crappy cars.

I got a few of my favorite body style of truck and a bunch from my childhood. Now I only buy them if I see cool ones that I just gotta have.

I wish I still had that tire carrier, was passed down to me from my cousin in the mid seventies. I also had a large barrel of orange track and a bunch of the supercharger stations as a kid, which my Mom sold up there in Ohio without asking me. I talk to my second cousin a lot of facebook and we were talking about shooting them out of the second story windows as a kid. we also used to run that orange track out the windows to ground level, just to see how fast they would go.:D
