Im keeping my old 348 engine for a nother project so I will be putting the 327 in my truck. The engine is getting rebuilt with flat tops, aluminum rods, the old turbo heads and a cam dynamics hydraulic stick. I want to run a cool intake and carbs on this truck and need ideas. Show pictures of what you like or what you got. Two four barrels or tripower or crossram or something else. Theres bound to be a wide choice for small blocks!

  2. What could be cooler than six twos?

this is going in a lowered 57 chevy pickup truck. I have a mickey thompson crossram that I bought years ago for dual four barrels. I think tripower might be cool or a man a free style. Pictures anyone?

I'm running 3 two's, and I would really like to run a man a free if I could find one. I think they are very cool, but so are six two's.--TV

Get a dual quad intake and get two adaptors from Speedway or Vintage Speed that allow you to run two deuces per quad and run an inline 4 deuce set up.

Simple Vintage Speed adapter with holley 94s and some olds covers to make it look vintage, 327 chrome alluminum intake also. gonna run straight pipes when I get it in the frame...

that looks just like the setup ive got sitting in the garage to go on my coupe, trouble is the 3x2s run so well on it seems a shame to change them..

I wouldn't suggest putting Aluminum Rods in a Street motor.

There are ton's of cool intakes for the SBC

    SlagKustoms CrossRam 6x2

Offy still makes a lowrise 6x2

    Manafre or McGurk 4x2

I also like the idea of having the dual quad manifold and getting Vintage speeds adapters to run 2 2's on each quad hole for a In-Line 4x2

I like my 3x2s. I have a FENTON intake just to be a little different.

  25. if im not mistaken this wont work because the two center carbs will hit eachother.

ive thought about this and figured the best way was to do some modifying to the adapters and bolt them onto the 2x4 intake sideways. but then itd kinda just look like a crazy manafre setup i guess....

  26. Heres some multi carb intakes Ive used on my last 3 projects.

It's hard to do something different on a sbc, but this setup runs great.

x2 on the aluminum rods in a street motor, not a good idea.

Aluminum rods are only good for some many runs, no more than 200 1/4 mile p***es.

Granted those are all flog the hell out of it p***es, but they wont last very long in a street motor.

Huh? What's wrong with "kinda just looking like a Man-a-Fre"?

I like the idea of the adapters on a 2x4 for a 4x2........inline or offset!

  30. now that 6 carb cross over would make me go right back to a sbc in Lil Beast....how about i "store that" for a bit for ya:p..looks like ya could use the extra bench space:p:p:D:eek::cool:...........
