This little Modified showed up at the Cyrstal Lake, Il. Cruise in late June. The car is pretty slick and a very clean build. I really don't know much about it and don't even know what's under the hood. A real young cat was driving it and was kinda unapproachable. Anyway it was too nice to keep from youse guys. I liked it alot, very creative 'lil short. The owner and his bud power parked their rearends on the front tires most of the night so my shots are a little off.
I don't remember the builders name. He used to work for Hopperstad in Belvidere. Here are a few shots from March 2004.
I talked to him a little. Should have asked more questions. It's got a 283 with early heads. He said he's out of Getz's Body Shop in Hampshire, IL.
I'd give it some different sized tires front to rear, but that thing is pretty cool. I assume the gas tank is behind the seat?
Man thats a sweet little ride! Look's like the 'fit & finish' is spot on from the pics.. What's the rear suspension, quarter eliptics? Very nice car.
Damn! At first I was repulsed and somewhat scared then looked at it a lil more and realized that it's plain wicked...
I dont remember off hand,,,but i think there was a full spread done on it in the Rodders Journal...I know i have something on it in one of the mags from this past year....Awesome lil car and i love the creatitve ideas that went into it!
His name is Brian Limberg and he's from Hampshire, IL. He was "Young Gun of the Month" in the February 2004 issue of Rod and Custom, page 19.
Very sweet little ride. It amazes me what some of the young guys are building these days. This one has sure got a few creative ideas on it. Frank
Bottle on the HAMB is the owner of Hopperstadt shop and I was at that Pizza party and I couldn't stop looking at it...!!!! Semi elipt springs in front and I thought there was torsion bar rear(?) very ingenious designs throughout. The Kid did a "Great Job"...!
It looks like he is running 1/4 ellip rear springs as a lower 4 bar... Unfortunately the single leaf looks way overstressed... Did anyone get a close look at the rear?
