On June 3, 1995, a parade and lighting ceremony marked the restoration of a roadside landmark in the Route 66 city of Collinsville, Illinois. The world’s largest catsup bottle was restored to its original glory after a two-year effort raised $75,000 to save it from demolition. The water tower was constructed in 1949 for the G.S. @34 GAZ, You're absolutely correct. The badge bar is something I'm not familiar with. i.e., seldom, if ever, used over here. And the indicator lights you mention. Are those what we call turn signals over here? Most turn signals here are pretty small and incon****uous.
Badge bars are pretty common on pre-war cars. Also on the British post-war sportscars. Any decent event will have a badge as a keepsake/souvenir. You can even buy readymade mounting brackets for your badge. On the car in the photo the turn signals look like vintage taillights or converted bicycle headlights.
