Ebert, Thanks so much for effort in sharing these photos. They are so timely, the cars, the people, how they dressed, the backgrounds. Thanks again. Slim
Thanks, Rick. I tried to make it just like he would have done...and I think of him every time I crank it up and ROLL....thanks, my friend!
Dirtbag13, Thanks, man! Yes, I knew some (I wish most!) of these guys.....all gearheads as you could imagine. Muncie was a GREAT hot rod "colony"...so many GREAT cars and guys!
Now this is exactly why I joined the HAMB. You haven't disappointed me. My dad is still with us and turns 90 this month. When I bought my 40 coupe in 1965, dad told me I would never get my $100 out of her. Still have her and planning on proving him wrong. And yes I do have a tear in my eye over these photos. Thanks!
Awesome!! It's great to see all the history in this state! Great shots! I was looking at this shot \/\/\/\/\/ and was just thinking how crazy this this must have sounded down the strip with just the cast exhaust. You can tell it was a blast!!!!!
Thanks for posting Ebert. Those are some great treasures you have there. I bet your pop used to tell some great stories!
You are a lucky man! Thanks for sharing and let's see more of your 40!!! I would say that you are doing pretty well with that $100 investment!!!
If time machines existed, I would say that is Dirty31!!!!! Back in the day!! Or at lease a long lost relative.
Just found this in Dad's scrapbook....a feature on my uncle's rail from Car Craft in 1966....my uncle Jack was a former pit crew member for K. S. Pittman along with my other uncle, Jerry, who passed away last month. I have a helluva story about this car....my uncle brought it back from CA when he moved back to Muncie and did a "warmup" on a gravel road....DUMBASS!!!! I just confirmed the details with my uncle Jack when I saw him at Uncle Jerry's funeral......unbelievable!!!! This chassis was built my Big Daddy.......I remember sitting in this beautiful car as a kid!
