    Standing; from second left in the plaid hat is Lazern Guthry, next to him is Marshall Maynard, in the T-shirt with the writing behind your Dad is Tom Dunlap, fourth from the right standing is "Bimbo". Bottom row third from the left is Bobby Hahn, fourth from the left is John Hellis. That is all of the names he could remember. Tom Dunlap said the pic was taken in '55 or '56 and the place is where the Muncie drag strip is now but before it was built. That is all I have for now.

    I never realized boys wore saddle shoes at that time as well as the girls.

    I can't believe i missed this post.Very cool photos.You are very lucky to have the memories.Hard to believe how fast time goes by.I still consider myself one of the young kids but i am 53 now.I better hurry with my car and get it running.I need to drive it to Muncie when i get it running.Thank you again this is the best post i have read on here.

    Don't think that 5 window with the guys around it is finished. No exhaust pipe on the exhaust manifold. But then maybe they drove it that way.

    Wow,how'd I miss this before?This is my favorite stuff on the HAMB!Thanks very much for sharing!I enjoyed the magazine article but it left me wanting more and here it is!

    Ebert, thanks for sharing you photos and memories with us, they sure bring back some of the good times we had in the 50's and 60's with the cars, racing and the people, thanks again...........:D
    Almost forgot your dad would be proud as hell to have the 40 built that nice.
