it's a tough engine to make look "vintage", the old cal custom valve cover are the best place to start thats for sure. the distributor in front allways looked akward to me. the taperd ends on the valve covers, but i do like the spacing of the pipes, headers can look good on these. pick the right color. hide the wiring and try and keep it clean. i've got two of them and like 'em.

The Thunderbird covers float my boat so much so that I intend to copy them - hope you don't mind

The H.A.M.B. is an amazing resource thanks for so many responses so quickly with the tapered 29 cowl I wanted to keep things from getting tight in there any sooner than it had to . Are these F.E. adapters all home made ? I have no fear of the Y-block dads run them in every thing its just like the SBC guys I'm thinking long hauler local auto parts store availablity dont want short wait on parts . Not that I plan on breaking anything but anything I ever broken wasnt planned . Any thing that is non Ford is considered foreign in our garage !

I've got 3 er 4 of those EFI 5.0L intakes collecting dust.. :( One of those is the GT-40 Cobra fuelie intake...

  12. Truck ones(=rectangular plenum opening) work better than car ones(=round plenum opening). Depending on how cheap you can score a trio of carbs and machining of the adapter plate, you can duplicate this set up for around $600!!! ...plus another $80 to $100 for swap meet finned VCs.

  13. Also works for 351 Windsor!:D

That's if you have a lower Windsor intake for a 351 truck engine...
My '96 F-150 has the 5.0L version... Plus I have another 5.0L truck lower That I need to finish the port matching on...

  15. Yes. Still SBF.

Here's a SBF sidedraft setup with Weber DCOEs for that wow factor - kinda mid '60s road racer look....

I run a 351W out of out of a 69 Fairlane in my f100, and like some people have commented on here the easiest option seems to be to go with find accessories to make them a little more retro. I also went with clear spark plug wires and Raja terminals. It's never going to be fully traditional, but I think it dressed up pretty good and looks kind of retro.

^^^ no FE version - low deck Windsor only or use with spacers on 351W. I have a couple of them laying around in the shop, but they are hard to find as there was only one production run....

Wish I could afford one of those and the Weber carbs.. I'd mount one on my 352c.i. Windsor using the Moon adaptor kit..

yeah the adapters are home made ! i came up with the idea when i wanted something different for my smallblock to make it look earlier and clear roller rockers ! i had my friend machine a set ! after much response and interest we made several sets ! unfortunately they sold like hot cakes and he hasn't had time to do more but eventually we will get some done , doesn't look like anytime soon though as were in the midst of moving into a new facility and setting up and overwhelmed w the current work load ! if i'm not mistaked i believe joee bought a set from me in the pic with the ford fe covers on his car
