Got this at the Albuquerque swap yesterday. I gave it a good shot googling images for an hour or so, but still cant figure it out. It is a suicide door car . Thanks
am i the only one that doesn't kow what a suicide cowl is my guess is early mopar with the dual cowl vents tk
That die cast chrome on the cowl top should be the key. On the AACA forum, a guy from Australia/NZ? showed how he casted and plated a part just like that. I had never seen a car with that piece. I almost think it was a Hupp or Hudson, but I can't say for sure as it was 2 years ago. The year styling of yours seems like 30-32.
sorry, I put "it is a suicide door car" in text, not the post ***le I thought (still do) Chrysler, but could not back it up with any searches. Here are a couple more views.
I'd bet it is not Chrysler. Take a look at pic in post #6, the beltline has a peak in the center, that's another odd feature besides the chrome center piece. ...and those lower dash cut outs? strange.
It's a 30 or 31 Hudson. I found both a 30 and a 31 sedan in a book. The peaked beltline, rounded lower windshield corners, and that center chrome shows in only 2 out of 8 different 30/31 Hudson model pictures in that book. Also shows cowl lights in the same place as those holes. I also have a Hudson-only book at the shop if you need more info?
Yeah, go to carnut.com and look at the '31 Hudson pics. Looks like the only year they had the dual cowl vents like that. Later, *****6
Yes, and if you do google for Hudson, you might see a hudson speedster kit someone was selling...there was a dash pic showing the 2 weird notches on the lower edge like yours.
This looks like it! 1932 Hudson 3 window rumble seat coupe. Thanks guys... now to find the rest of it.
