I got some coolant on my chrome headers. Is there anything that will take the stain (goldish in color) off. Metal is not polished and was flash dipped. Will something like acetone work? Regular chrome polish does not seem to work.

  2. Last year someone overheated in the gas lane and managed to flip antifreeze (hot) all over my bike and me. My pipes are polished so maybe this won't work for you but I used Formula 409 and a power washer to get the **** off. Even got it off my as cast aluminum if that helps.

Acetone may work but it is going to take more then a wipe especially if they have not been polished just dipped.

Haven't tried 409. The stuff is baked on pretty good. That may cut it. I was hoping it would just burn off, but no such luck.

  4. 409 is magic stuff. I think it had ammonia in it but don't hold me to that.

I took my T shirt off and wiped the bike down but I still had a 3 hour ride home in the summer heat. It is not perfect but it is presentable and wasn't perfect prior to the great antifreeze m***acre.

I hope it works for you, at least it won't cost much to find out. LOL
