Jr went to help me get a load of parts from an old racer. Lots of model A stuff he pulled off his roadster before he made a race car out of it. Anyway, on the way home my buddy that hooked me up with the stuff says "you want to stop and see an out there model A?" We catch the guy on his way to lunch and he shows us his collection. He has a model A that he has been working on for "15 or 20 years" that I really think he will never finish. Eight plug, duel distrubitor flathead that he is sure will get blown to pieces when he finally starts it. BEAUTIFUL metalwork by a local guy (I forget his name). I has obvious styling cues, but I think it still stands on its own...God the metal work! He has a '38 that he is working on now, so this gets pushed back that much further. I'm trying to get him to drag this out to the Showdown as is.
He had the hood jammed up and it was a pain to put it down.

WOW, the metal work is amazing. Do you have any pics of the decklid. It looks like there is a lot of detail on there too

Wow! Personally, I think this kind of styling on a hot rod is pretty goofy, but I can sure appreciate the craftsmanship. ... Although I'd take that drive train in a heartbeat.

Not sure where Seven Valleys is, but I'm in Norwalk OH. Call me when he fires it up, I'll go outside and listen for it!

That motor is going to be an amazing piece!

Little deuce coupe meets AlaKart styling...I think he underestimated the drive ratio for the Latham...

Those Thickstun aircleaners stuck in the hood sides look outrageous.

    That's neat.

I dig the Thickstun finned air cleaner popping out of the hood side.

Too bad it sits. It could look like something out of Chili Catallo's garage...

Although that car is really a stunner and has a lot of neat stuff going on I just can't buy the "working on it for 15-20 years" business.
There is too much "Today" all over that car, the mixing of traditional, show custom and early hotrod styles, the coilover quickie, the tilt column, the headlights, widewhites, 5-spokes, fresh metal work, all point to a new build, not an ongoing 20 years of work unless the first 19 were gathering parts.
It'll be interesting to see how it turns out, that's for sure.

he's been working on it for quite sometime
I saw it about 3 years ago just how you see it now.

1987 sticks in my mind for some reason? but i forget the whole story....
and remember....1987 is 20 years ago!

    That's incredible!
I've always been a ****er for the 60s show car look.

Hope it does eventually get finished.

I think it would carry the styling better with reworked stock fenders on the front, pointed like Ala Kart...but Larry has the fenders now.
I think I'd like to rummage through the truck full of leftovers...that stuff is a lot closer to my taste!

  24. Hey Larry, you wanna sell that Red Bell can?

oh, and thanks for sharing those pics  That car could be sooo cool....

It ****in Rock's, and with 16 spark plugs where can you go wrong. My fathers AA/FA has been a 18 year project and would put him in his grave if he ever finishes it. But what a way to go!!!!!!!!!!
