If there was a car like that near me languishing around not getting built, I would pester the owner on a weekly basis. A car with that much detail needs to be out in public being seen. The 60's show rod thing seems to be represented by too few, overdone cars. This one is perfect and needs to be completed. Wow..........wow.........wow.

larry, I am 99% sure that the metal guy you mention was "Lang's Custom Auto in Harrisburg, PA"

if it is the car I remember I would have seen it at langs in or around 1998 or 1999? in very similar condition. (around the time of their LAST open house)

if its NOT the same car, another very similar model a coupe of very similar design is hiding somewhere else in central PA.

Sawzall..you're right it is the same car from Lang's. I always wondered what happened to it.

Funny thing is Pasadena can't beleive the car has been under construction for 20 years.....and I can't beleive the car isn't done yet. I guess cause it's not from California is the reason he can't beleive it.

There was also a T sedan that had some crazy 60's style work done at the same shop. It had a curved windshield that sorta killed the look. It's a shame that car dissapeared too.

Sawzall...Yeh...sorta spooky. From what I understand it's not too far from Latimore. Maybe he would bring it down unfinished just for ****s and giggles....I'll be giggles :)

Might set a fire under his *** to get it done.

    Fantastic custom body work.

Any chance you have photos of that '38 he is working on... if that is only half as good as this Model A....

Pure Art by a Craftsman.....Not Many left around like this....You can Fake them but that thing is as real as the time it was created in. Spend some time with the Guy...he needs motivation to finish that car in his lifetime!

Yep, the shop was Lang's (that's me- Bill Lang). I now own Hot Rod Fabrication in Denton, MD. I have tried to get Stan Shoppel (the owner) to get back on the car but he is in to restoring old drag cars now so who knows.
Also, the radical 49 Ford coupe custom we were working on has not been finished. The owner stopped because of illness. Sure would like to see that one done.

I noticed it has a Latham blower;never knew they set one up for a flathead or he put in a bunch more work. The critizied pieces in the hood are necessary because it has sidedraft carb and who wants their engine to breath that hot air from over the exhaust. The builder did brilliant work and hopefully will finish it.

How cool. Not my style but I always appreciated the 60's custom look.

He still has not touched the A, but is putting a duel engine flathead powered dragster together. I think that one WILL get finished.
