That picture definitely made an impression on me when I first saw it in Quarter Mile Countdown magazine when I was a teenager.
I believe thats Bobby Alloway's Track nose Speedstar coupe Not exactly HAMB friendly but it was a pretty cool car about 2001 or so if I remember correctly.
Looks like the early days of Manny Moe and Jack from Pep Boys. With their seldom heard from cousin Irving.
Now you're talking! The Doyle Gammell coupe (possibly before Doyle bought it) and a cool 32 cabriolet on the street. Nice! Mick
I've told the story before, but a guy drove it into Fort Ord with two duffle bags sticking out of the rumble seat. We ended up in the same company and on a trip to Lions drag strip he offered to sell me his '32 Cabriolet --- for $600. I couldn't figure how to get it home, so I passed. I wake up with the sweats when I think of it. The guy's name that owned it at that time was Deluka. Norm
Thanks!!! And keep 'em coming! Mention the thread they came from so more people can be exposed to those threads. TommyD posted this one on Drag Cars in Motion. Could this be from Goleta where they raced down to the bump? Santa Barbara Acceleration Association, coolest club name ever.
