I'm close to getting my 54 Ford on the road and needing ideas for a nice steering wheel to compliment my 62 Chrysler guage cluster and column. Other than that, the front seat and dash are stock and plan on the wrap around Thunderbird rear seat. I have a banjo wheel and a 62 Caddy DeVille wheel at my disposal but not very interested in either. Any ideas are welcome and pics are even better. Thanks- Stan
Well, the coolest steering wheel is the 50 Ford Crestliner four spoke but, no one can afford one. At least I can't.
1964 Pontiac Parisienne Custom Sport. It's clear plastic ! I'll try and find a pic... Todd EDIT : Try this
60's style - 58 olds, 58-60 impala, 61-63 impala 50's style - merc accessory, ford crestliner, baby lincoln I have a 53 Merc wheel going in my 51 Ford cuz I can;t afford any of the above mentioned on the 50s list.
Isn't there a Chevy wheel that has a suicide knob kinda thing built into one end. Saw a pic on here one time, and it was SICK!! CHAZ
Hey Sawzall, do you possibly have either of these. This is the type of stuff I'm looking for. The second pic you posted looks like it'd go good with my guage cluster. Keep the pics and ideas coming please. These are being really helpful.
I'm going to suggest a Plymouth Aero (62/32?) wheel. Square, see-through, and filled with a weird glitter. Hard to beat. I my self have a square wheel from a new port.
The guy who built my 26 T had some vision. Here is a pic of the boat steering wheel in my T. I think it is totally ***s !
I have a wheel from a '52 olds similar to the one sawzall posted, minus the clock or guage under neath the little dome. pretty sweet wheel. I like that chevy one too.
The 59 Olds wheel. Why? Because it takes more than a crescent wrench to make it work in a custom. No offense but it doesn't take much talent to bolt on a 58 Impala wheel. Ya gotta know something to make one of these Olds wheels work.
That's what I thought when I took the picture. That wheel and shift lever would look good in a lot of customs
