Stumbled across this today and keep going back and staring at it. That rear window just looks awesome on there. Anyone ever seen anything like that done before? I'd love to see this thing finished but I can't imagine how you'd do it. Putting the original fenders back on definately wouldn't work. Any ideas? Am I nuts?
I don't know man, that window is definetly very cool, but half the car is missing! I suppose if you could find another dodge to put the top on, but barring that...
Cool or Crap depends on your or a buddys welding and fabrication skills. The rear section of the passenger side chop looks a bit higher than the rest.
Complete piece of crap. Look at the profile of the chop...horrendous. The front is like 3 inches shorter then the back. Looks like it was a chop done in the style of one-up-manship instead of exercising restraint. Obviously cut by someone with little/no skill and an Ol Skool Rodz subscription. I guess you could cut the roof off and start again, or carson top it. Or someone could just send it off to the crusher and put the poor thing out of it's misery
Actually, the roof on those was very very cool right from the factory. It had a small back window that fit the scale. Betcha this body is headed for the crusher
i think it's the coolest. I spotted that car last week. The guy lives 10 miles south of my office. I also happen to know where there's another complete dodge coupe for $800, so i was really interested. But, alas, i have a half built model a rpu in my garage, and no room for another project.
You asked: It's a pile of crap . Looks like my yard man, Bubba, got loose with an abrasive cut-off saw.
thanks for the responses. I guess i wasn't looking at the craftsmanship so much as the design. I was thinking something crazy like maybe grafting on some rear fenders off a '49 chevy...hmmm
Depending on your level of skill at fab-bing, your patience, check-book and your foresight, it COULD eventually look like this. R-
that is such a pile of crap that I thought someone posted pictures of my 48 ford pile of crap. the lesson here would be finish one section BEFORE you cut the next. it hard to sell an idea when it consists of hundreds of parts. truely a basket case
Well, it's potential cover material for Ol' Skool Rodz. Mopar sedans that era are a dime a dozen, maybe you could cut the front roof out of one to use to patch this together again, but I don't know what you could do for a deck section. I wouldn't just jump on the pile of crap bandwagon, but to make anything towards a 'fix' work on this body will take a lot of time and a lot of work, it wouldn't be for the faint of heart. If the top's cut crooked, it will have to be cut again and started over. Or just throw the top away and put a convertible top on it. Aligning any new rear section won't be easy, either. The doors, if they're solid, might be worth the $250 to a guy who really needs them, but I'd offer $100 like was suggested. I asked where the rear of the body is, seller says "don't know but it's gone, thanks" -
