64 and 65-66 use a smaller spline than other GM cars. The 64 uses a different height at the hub than the 65-66 wheels. I believe the 60-63 and 67-69 use the "standard" GM spline.
There were only two posts of the UltraVan, Corvair powered motorhome. Here's mine. #481, a 1969. Among the last with a Corvair engine.
I think one of the most interesting facts about the UltraVan is that it weighs less than the VW camper.
There's a guy that sells Corvair engines and parts on eBay. He is a Corvair guru and he has some killer engines for sale. McGurk
there are several Corvair speciality dealers and many parts are still available through places like NAPA. Clarks Corvair in Shelburn falls Mass. and California Corvair are 2 of the biggest anything you need can be bought from them . There is still a lot of hop up goodies being made for Corvairs and the book How to Hot Rod Corvair engines has been re printed with a lot of updated information Bob Helt prints a bunch of good books on the Corvair you can also join the Corvair Forum theres a link in one of my earlier posts here
There's also a book called How to Keep Your Corvair Alive that is better than the shop manual and includes a lot of modern fixes and upgrades.
I just found this thread and read through it. Its getting old that when the subject of Corvairs come up on a old car forum everybody who had one, or knew a relative or friend that had one, has to tell a story about what a "crap" car it was and all the oil it leaked and they couldn't keep the fan belt on, etc. etc. etc. Why didn't they get the leaks fixed and buy good quality belts and learn the proper way to adjust them? then you wouldn't have had to****** about it? Just like any other car...they have to be repaired ! As far as oil leaks, there isn't an engine on earth that has leaked more oil on to American roads than the oil pans, valve covers, and rear main seals of the small block Chevy V8's! Most of the "true Corvair stories" aren't really true. They are often twisted memories, repeated myths, and mixed details from various stories repeated many years ago from people who often didn't know what they were talking about in the first place. Restored Corvairs are driven more miles annually than most other collector cars. If your interested in Corvairs, get one and enjoy restoring and driving it. Otherwise, shut up and buy something else.
