We have seen some cool slammed vairs in the last few posts and I think they look great. I totally dig Corvairs and the EM are my favorite. That being said I am not a fan of bagged setups in a vair. Bagging a Corvair will require a fair amount of fab and weight. If you just want to cruise the go for it. That's not me. If I was to make a major mod to the suspension I would go with a coil over setup. Gurthrie1068 has a great example. For now I will deal with my cut coils. 2 in the front 1 in the rear.
A 1973 photo. The Corvair belonged to a friend but I'm not sure on the year. Went from Illinois to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin and then out to South Carolina. Those are not rally wheels but plain 14x7 steelies.
This was actually pretty kool. Someone installed a mid engine small block Chevy in it. I couldn't get close to the interior to take a pic, that's how many people wanted to check it out. I fixed the paint and filled in trim holes to neaten it up (photo-wise).
If anyone is looking for an inexpensive easy project for some summer fun, I am trying to unload my 63 convertible in the classifieds...
No showing disrespect here...the USS Nader, that's not nice. That's cool..! I KNOW how the cars handled, Not sure about a boat, but it's still cool. Mike
