Copper Art Grand prix? help identifing

    This maybe somewhat ot, but I am hoping someone in this diverse group might be able to help me out. I have no idea about this picture I ended up with, it is copper 17 x 19, but it looks like it has been painted or washed somehow, and the same picture is on both sides. The artists name is R. Mahoney. No it is not for sale (unless it is worth stupid money :) ), as it has a spot in the garage near some of Weesners art.

    Could this be a plate used on an offset press. If so, the image was probably chemically etched on the plate...
