Technical Copper clad aluminum wire

    This makes me wonder about the cheap tach I just put in my car. Splicing on the connector plug, I strip the insulation off the end and the wire has this silver color to it. Soldered up OK though.

    Our house was built in 1971 with aluminum wire. Every socket and switch has a copper pigtail in spring wire nut with the proper lube. I’ve lived in it since new and I am an electrician. I’ve never known or seen one have a fire. Proper technics are all that are required..
