I've got the sandwich copper head gasket ready to install. I've read that I need to apply a sealer either aviation permatex or the copper gasket maker. Going with the permatex and wondering where to apply. Do I completely cover the surfaces or just around all the holes. Any experience here would help. Thanks

I don't apply anything but never rebuilt that engine. It is always important to have a true surface, ecpecialy on higher compression engines.

I install copper, dry, over tested-flat, or just machined flat surfaces.
