Not trying to start trouble. I don't post. I just read. But, why the reluctance to allow posts about the Corona Virus and how it is effecting us?

I will still be here either way. I just am curious. I think I must have missed the thread.

I tried man... Here are the basics:

My idea was to have one thread where people could discuss how the virus was effecting their hot rodding thinking that would keep the main forum clean and still give people a release of sorts. However, that quickly dissolved into people arguing about how valid the lockdowns were or were not.

Initially, I thought I could just delete those posts and keep it going. However, I was overran by people accusing me of being politically motivated by both sides.

At the same time, people started posting images of themselves and others at makeshift car shows during their local lockdowns.

It all made me really uncomfortable. I felt like I was hosting misinformation and, in a way, promoting ideas that made people unsafe. I didn't like it. And it all reminded me of why I decided on the no politics rule two decades ago... Politics divides. Hot Rods unite. I like it that way.

So, we've tried to keep the joint clean of Covid discussion. And yeah, no idea how science and politics can get all mixed up... but it has and I want nothing to do with discussing that here.
