Corvette Bagged Suspension

    I finally began the reassembly of the Corvette front suspension on my 50 Merc this weekend. Ran into a little problem with the air bag clearance but I knew that I was going to have to rework the shock tower so it wasn't a surprise. I also started reassembling the rear end (yes it's Corvette too...) so I'll show a pic of the half-shaft with the spindle that I electrolitically de-rusted on my last tech post...

    Here's the cleaned up spindle mounted to the half shaft. I used a Rustoleum product in a rattle can to paint the yoke and u-joint clamps...it's called Hammerite and is advertised as being a "rust encapsulator". I don't know about the rust encapsulator part, but the paint goes on real well and leaves a hard smooth finish that looks like powder coat...
