Does anyone know who makes headers for c1 corvettes that fit well? I have a 56 and want to install some. Almost all the venders who list them are very vague and seem unsure about there products. Let me know what u know please not what u think. Don
Several years ago I had a 1957 Corvette with a 383 engine. It had Sanderson block Hugger headers. These headers were on the car when I bought it and they fit Very well with no issues. They were jet hot coated , but I don’t know the part Number. Dave
Looks like @scotty t has Hookers https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/getting-something-done.1188717/page-7
I'd go to the older header companies and ask specifically if they still carry those models or have the jigs. Hooker, Stahl, Doug Thorley, Jardine. I don't know if all those companies are still in business and hooker is so big you won't get a straigh answer, but look for a company that built them when the cars were being hot rodded. Hopefully HAMBr's have some examples or know what brands fit.
I have a set on my '61 that fit well, and provide good clearance all the way around. Not Hedman, as there is no tag affixed to them. Longer tube version. In order to take the starter off, I do have remove the header, and they did not come with a generator mount welded to the flange.. Bob
