What a great deed. Thank You, for sharing your story and pictures. I'll bet your dad is still pinching himself to make sure it isn't just a dream. I hope to follow your lead some day soon.

My father did the same thing when I came out but his was a 32 ford pickup. I wish I could do what you did and suprise him with one. I am glad you were able to give your father the his dream car back.

Killer, that's killer that you found THE car your pops was after! 70 Vettes are HARD to come by since they didn't start making them until mid year 1970.......gm strike........I LOVE the silver! My mom's got a big block car with a 4 speed stock.............wished I could talk her into selling it, but Corvette people are SUCH romantics for their cars.:D Fantastic that you could make a love affair a reality!

That's really great Killer, but ya gotta tell your pops to quit tryin to lift the car as weight training. (You can take the man away from Gardner but you can't take the Gardner out of the man! ;) :D )

Yep, cool story. My wife's step-dad (bother's aunt's, uncle's, sister's, former roommate) used to have a conv. 64 mustang....he is one of those selfless guys that provides EVERYTHING for his family (only has step-kids) and has NEVER bought a thing for himself. We've been talking along the same lines as what you did. Ironically, my wife's grandma passed away a few weeks ago and I was thinking the same thing....

I shared this story with my wife's mom........didn't bite...

I think I'll print this and put it in my 14 month old's graduation card.....
