Any body have a pic of John Diana's (from Hot Rod or Popular Hot Rodding?) or Patterson's C1 from Kansas? Both great looking cars if I remember right.

Great pictures! Thanks. I'm not sure people realize how fun it was to go to the NHRA races before they went all nascar on us. I'm not sure how fun it was to actually race because I'm sure there was trouble behind the scenes but man, there were some neat cars out there. With Corvettes right in the middle of it all!

Did any one ever built a 54 corvette with the 56 rear body on?

Such a car with a screaming sbc 302 engine, would make me so lustfull for a corvette!

The guy driving it is using a Russian Mig fighter helmet I believe. Obviously having fun. That is a really strong running big block that he still competes and wins with.-Jim

chana is owned by Bill Weckman from the Granite city/St louis area. I grew up knowing that car. Baddest damn car around. He even brought it out to a car show i used to orginize. Still around but havent seen it on the street in a while. I went to his garage and im not kidding when i say Bill had a motor for whatever mood he was in. It was known to be the fastest street legal vette in america.

Hi FI 62 - Beautiful machine - that is THE best colour combo hands down. I wish it was my black/red 1962 that I owned in 1965 and I could make you happy - but I did not have FI. I have traced mine to New Jersey regiesterd in 2007 maybe with Historical plates - but Just can't find the owner and have advertised everywhere. I also wrote a two page article in the online magazine www.allaboutvettes.com and not one reply. Do you know any other 62 in NJ by chance?? - Thanks - Doug

    Doug,
I know of a few others but all are long term owned. You might try contacting the Central Jersey chapter of the NCRS, the Deleware Vally Corvette Club in Pa., the Spirit of 53 Corvette Club located in nortern New Jersey, the club memberships may be able to help. If I think of anything else I'll let you know. Rich

  23. noboD,

This is a different car. The Blue car is now in Canada. Rod started with the $800.00 shell in the listing photos.

Not to change the subject, but the first car I remember seeing that Rod built was a red, blown 3W Pro-Street Deuce coupe back in 81, at the Street Rod Nats in Columbus, Ohio. And every car since than just got wilder and faster.

  25. Hey Baron,

You are correct about the 32 Ford, it was a 3-window coupe. Rod is a great guy as well....he also had a 38 Ford Coupe and was looking for a similar car a couple of years ago, but found another Corvette...

Please list, if known, the exact size and offset of the rear wheels of the yellow 62 pictured above.

Also, the exact size, brand, and model of rear tire.

Also, were there any modifications made to fit this wheel combo in the fenderwells? If so, please describe in great detail.

Now that you mention it, i don't think the vette got IRS until 63? This 62 still had a solid axle and leafs? Which means easier to make room for larger tires?
