Speaking of 60 Vettes, I posted Ed Kasicki's 60 Vette that he had at Autorama in the Corvette Gasser thread. Talked to him and his wife Mary for a while. Absolutely beautiful car that he says he is going to run in AA/GS-not sure how soon but should be fun to watch.

As A Mopar guy who also loves Vettes that is my kind of combo. D&J in Cincinnati was a great machine shop and engine builder that ran a 426 Hemi Powered OT Vette at Edgewater. Great car.

Chuck I thought it was the fill for his gas tank. I know a few guys filled thru the front emblem hole on the 58-60 and with this 62 I just figured maybe that was his plan. May be something else including an ornament.

  7. That nose looks like it is pushed out some. Maybe to make a little more room for a tank?

Yes, carcruse, I see that as well since you've mentioned it. I think that you and Jim are on the right path with that analysis. It makes a lot more sense than a random hood ornament.

Swade41 the white 62 is Ed Wilson's 62 that he won with at Indy in 68 and Pomona in 69 in E/SP. Where the car says Vem Vertlom Bros is where is used to say Ed Wilson in large letters. Strong running car that ran in the high 11s. I have seen other pictures of the car running at Niagara.

Swade nice pic of the 61 Packrat. I think I have seen a Camaro with the same name and possibly the same brothers. Not any info on either sadly.

Swade, I really want to "like" that car because it's in competition plus the fact that a '62 has always been near the top of my "all-time favorites": list but there's just something about it that's hard for me to reconcile. Thanks for posting it because we sometimes need to remind ourselves that personal tastes don't account for everything.

I think if I found that in a barn Chuck it may have to be repainted immediately. Not sure what to make of the taillights. Car ran at Dover.

In my opinion, the tail lights are the big mistake.
In So Cal in the early 70's there was a Pantera with a similar paint scheme using candy, but less colors, that looked really nice. But like you say, to each his own.

Your right Jim it did run at Dover, I've seen other pictures of it here on Hamb previously. Those taillights and others similar to them were popular in the late 60's and 70's.

  20. I love custom taillights on some of those old Vettes but I'd have to remove them phord lights with a hatchet cause tools wouldn't be fast enough!
