Been messing around with the decklid emblem on my corvette (I hate stock stuff)
    emblem1.JPG
I machined up a new clear lense out of 1/2" acrylic and put a pc of crinkle finish red behind it
    emblem2.JPG
This is a pc of the same pearl white the car is upholstered with (the interior is real tuck n roll while this is top s***ched)

    emblem3.JPG
some gold metalflake pleats. this doesn't really go with the car unless you consider that I pearled the hardtop with gold murano pearl, but that is kind of a stretch
    emblem4.JPG
this is diamond shape acrylic behind the 1/2' lense with drop ceiling light diffuser behind it. this pattern matches the floor mats...
    emblem5.JPG

here is a floor mat pic... ok I am kinda stuck on which one I like the best ... what do you guys think???

I'd do the last one, with the diamonds outlined in black. And maybe on clear gl***.

Moriarty, the changes to the interior (including and especially the grab bar) look really good. As for the trunk emblem I am a fan of the crossed flags. I would like to see you keep the crossed flags. When I bought my black 62 in 1977 the guy removed the emblem altogether and put the crease in its place. I sold the trunk lid as soon as I could and bought another one I could put the emblem in. Maybe that is still rolling around in my head.

I like the diamonds Mark. What would it look like if the red ones were black like your mats?

I am watching this on Netflix. Episode #6 has the Precious Vette 57 Corvette Dragcar and the owner who started racing it in 1966. image.jpg

Enloe, I watched and enjoyed that as well. I've been acquainted with Larry Mallicone for about fifty years and I've seen that car compete dozens of times. Since the p***ing of some of our shared friends, I'd lost contact with Larry. It was good confirming that he's still a player. For what it's worth, Larry also had a hand in the power-train development of the infamous, highly compe***ive "Big Red" '69 Camaro road racer.

Wow $30,000 seems a bit optimistic IMO. If it was an old drag car with history-maybe. With the cost of restoring these cars to even a nice hot rod standard ends up costing a few bucks. Good luck to the seller.
