It was in primer in a 1979 car craft article called a Religious Experience had a BBC 427 " tunnel ram turbo 400 ran in the 10's
My cousin she bought it. With no engine or trans from a ad in the back of Hot rod . Stuck a SBC in it and drove it a few times and parked it. I bought it about 1984 or so .
Took the hood scoop off pulled out a scary 3 point cage installed a soft top and have been driving it ever since . Needs a lot of TLC but runs. Stuck front disk brakes on it a few years ago so it stops . Like to find correct guages get the interior more presentable . Has a 57 Olds rear .
Car was from Freemont CA in the late 70's . Don't know much on the race history but it was a drag car at one point.
I have a 413" SBC built for it that's going to get a low 2x4 intake .
RHS heads that are worked with HYD roller cam . It's only had about 250 HP the last 25 years and that needs to change . New bullet makes over 500. Not sure what trans yet.
I'd like a 5 speed .

Don’t see many early Corvette drag cars using aluminum knockoff wheels. I suspect that they used a sledge hammer to tighten the wheels before each run.

 

A bit of work went into that custom for sure. For sale for $4000.
