Hey Guys,, It's been a day or two that I hadn't visited due to some medical problems, but am doing better now and am plumb full of questions. ( oh no, not that guy again,,) I have not done a thing to my 55 Chevy in 6 months,,, but,,,but I plan to start up again.I had wanted to clean up the firewall on the car so I had installed the brake master cylinder from a 1960 chevy pickup under the floorboard. Now I have picked up a dual master cylinder at a yard sale that looks like the ones used on Corvettes. Looks like it has 2 different size tubing fittings,,,? The front reservoir is slightly bigger than the rear one. It looked to be in good shape and after teardown, it looked brand new on the inside. The casting number is 5472002 and has a BIG 1 1/4" piston,,!! never seen one that big. Can anybody help me ID what vehicles, years this was used on? Thanks
Joe, I know this thread is old as dirt, but for your info, and anybody else, Master Cylinder bores that big are usually used with a booster. I found this during a search and noticed nobody replied to it. Be careful running that cylinder without a booster, you may not get the pressure you need to stop the car. good luck!
