ANYONE KNOW WHAT A DECENT PAIR OF 32 FORD FRONT FENDERS SHOULD COST? HAVE A CHANCE TO PICK UP A DECENT PAIR
are they gennie or reproduction? new low end reproduction fiberglass: $249/ea from speedway howell's repro steel: ~$500/ea locally i've seen some genuine in solid fair/repairable condition for around $300/ea recently. that was asking price, don't know what they sold for. i sold a *very* nice driver's side for $400 last year
You can spend 1k for new, like mentioned. Or spend 300 for crap and pay 700 for your body man to make them straight(maybe). Depends what your building. Less than perfect, old original is "perfect" for a patina car. Black show paint, better step up to the straightest ones you can find.
They're worth more if you need them than if you're just buying them for "someday". And, keep in mind if you're stock piling that the average age of hotrod guys is going up- there may be less demand in the future as we get older. Hope not, but it's a fact of life.
Maybe not 5-7 years, but I'd bet the average age of a Deuce owner is mid 60's and going up. First, you have to pretty much be in that age group to think the car is cool (no offense to you youngin's in your 50's) and second, yeah, you got to have enough disposable income to play the '32 game. So just where are there more Deuce fans coming from than there are now-and those guys are going to start dying off.
Not to start a pissing match, but I am 38, and think they are cool. I started in muscle cars in my teens & twenties, then Tri-5 chevys, now I am onto 32-34 Fords. Most everyone that I know have followed a similar path...a progression of sorts. Also, although far from rich, I currently have 8 32 fords...
The part I like most about hot rods is: You do what you want to the car. There are no fast rules that people criticize for not having the CORRECT radiator hose. Most stock muscle cars and the matching numbers game are boring. Hot rods give you a reason to build it different. Ago
