Working on a '32 Chevy 1-ton ch***is. Trying to convert it to hydraulic drum brakes rather than the mechanical. I have a hunch that some 1950's chevy truck brakes might work. Hoping that somebody could help me with some measurements if they have a set that is easily accessible.

I tried '53-'54 car brakes. The hubs fit just fine. The backing plates are too small.

I am hoping for 3-1/8" center to center between top holes on spindle and 4-3/8" center to center between side holes (see picture).....or at least close and within "tweeking" range. Can anybody confirm if 1953-1959 chevy truck drum backing plates might work based on these measurements?

    Thanks in advance.

I have a 1950 set in my shop and they measure to your specs almost perfect. The up and down is a hair longer. Gary

Thank you. This is good to hear! Now going to have to find a set. Will have to do a search and see who's doing a brake conversion....

    Thanks again.
