What are these old Ford Coupe's going for now? I like the looks of a Tall boy rod, but not sure its worth it. This guy thinks he is sitting on a pot of gold, said something about $13,500.00 Its solid, no rust through anywhere, engine even runs, but need to be rebuilt of course.

I can see it just like the drawing. Damn it would look good. I know, I think thats way too much money, but I bet there is someone else who would pay it.

I'd check with Hemming's Motor News or the folks on Fordbarn or Ahhoga for a current good price. Don't mention that you want to rod it,they're traditional restorers.

  6. waaaaay too much, in my opinion.....check out www.fordbarn.com heres an example of some adds ran last month:
Car for Sale: 1927 Ford Model T Coupe. This is a very solid car and runs and drives excellent. It has metal spoke wheels. $7,500.00
    ...and another:
For Sale 1927 Model T Ford Coupe and Running Gear. No engine or Transmission. No Title. $3,500 Pictures on Request.
    ...or:
1926 model T tudor, complete orinigal car came out of a barn in MN, this is a decent restoreable car, body has a little rust thru not bad, doors are great, all garish mmoldings are in the car, motor turns, wood wheels, $2000 or will part out body for $1200, might be able to haul east from MN. for a fee

It pays to look around. my 2 cents.

Yeah I guess your right, I kinda knew that it was way too much. I will have to rub his nose in it. Tell him that I checked and fould several from $1,200.00 and up to $8,500.00 for one partially restored.

Why does everyone assume because its old it needs the motor rebuilt? Unless its rattling or smoking badly, I'd run it as is.

  9. The 2 door is no longer available. Don't ask me how I know.

Check out the Model T classifieds on Fordbarn.

Here is a nice example of a mostly unmolested body, ignore the stupid fake bullet holes and SBC.

The 26-7 bodies will bolt right on Model A frames, even the holes are there since Henry wasnt sure the 28A would be ready in time.

28 fenders also fit perfect and give a much smoother appearance.

Now there's a bit of trivia I didn't know about! I might have to do that with my '26 T roadster.

13K seems obscene for that car. I'll sell my '26 T roadster, on it's original frame and running gear, engine runs, has wood wheels, needs a trunklid, for $3750 (what I paid for it) and I doubt anyone would buy it because that's plenty for the car.

If you're gonna build a rod anyway, it'd be a shame to disassemble a nice complete car like that, when bodies are availible for much less money.

  12. between 7 and 10K is probably what it is worth.

The drive train is worth almost nothing to anyone but a restorer or someone who is building a period old race car.

But on a retorers site you might peddle all the pieces that you don't use and make a good chunk of cash back.

T's in general are very cheap. You could drive a good one home from Hershey for way less than that.
