I've got a 1959 chevy 6 shooter, wondering if I put a double or triple carb intake on it will it significantly boost the horsepower, give a funner ride? Or would I just be wasting more gas?

A different angle, been eyeing an old suburban for the 454, I think the tranny is dead. After rebuilding the engine would I be able to marry it up to my original 1959 3 tree transmission or would I have to put in the proper transmission along with the engine?

Ive loaded twin stromberg carbs on to a few different holden straight sixes (they are an Australian car) I have always found that they do defineitly give extra power over a single 2 barrel carb even if the engine is otherwise stock.

IF they are tuned right, In my experience if the engine has a cam, headers etc nothing will work as well as a well tuned holley 4 barrel on a good manifold for performance, but it aint trad so go to a swap meet get a multicarb setup. The induction noise is really cool. if it don't make power take it off and ebay it,

Should work fine until you let the clutch out.
