cover firewall or tunnel-floor to keep heat down ?

    Hi....

    well we got the beater running the other day ,

    but damn the footwells where the pedals are is damn hot !

    OK , it was over 100 degrees that day , but still

    what can you cover the firewall or floor/tunnel with to keep the heat down ?

    and is it better to cover the firewall in the engine compartment or inside the car ?

    Right now you cannot drive it with tennis shoes !

  2. You can buy foil faced jute insulation. Check with JimA or one of the other California HAMB guys that run shops and stores.

    make sure all the holes on the firewall are plugged such as around the steering column or the throttle linkage they can let in huge amounts of very hot air then work on insulation on the inside of the interior no one thing will probably cure your problem just a number of small items
