I use a lot of braided stainless brake lines. For years I have used some 1/2 inch id 3-1 shrink ratio black non adhesive shrink tubing. Ran out and after 2 attempts on the internet of which both were a very poor quality I'm stumped. Any body know where to get 10 ft of the good stuff?

@krylon32 try West Marine. I buy mine form them, but it might have the glue inside it, I can't recall.

I had my hydraulic shop make mine out of dot approved rubber. I hated the stainless braided ones. The new lines look oem

Check Mouser for that stuff. I've gotten lots of stuff from them, sometimes too many choices.

If your goal is to make otherwise snazzy braided stainless lines flat black and discreet hydraulic hoses would fit the bill. Any hose that can handle oil can handle glycol.

You can get braided stainless brake lines that have a black outer skin at Summit.

I'm using kevlar lines from Speedway. They're thin, black, and very flexible.

My shop charged 90 bucks to do 2 lines. Funny thing the labor charge was 20 bucks for both lines.

I put red and white spiral wrap on my stainless brake lines - like the ones on the Kookie car. Someone here on the Hamb directed me to a source for it.

And it works with the same AN fittings as the plain stainless lines. Stainless fittings polish up nicely, none of the red and blue nonsense. The black anodised fittings are kinda stealthy.
