cool to see Kirk's "may cause dangerous" and the Gallagher's oil farm Tbird. Yeah the show was pretty weak this year. Seemed as though there were about half the people as last year. Seemed geared to the OCC fan club crowd.

Yea it sucked ass. The only two cars i thought were tits was james hetfield's 37 and the 57 lincoln capri (Mucha muchacha). I hope i got the years right. I thought it was completly boring. If wasnt for the $7.50 beers i dont know what i would had done with my self.

I know carl that helps put the show on at the cow palace, and he told me that they raised the price for the show rooms, really high so that is why they did not have as many cars. They got a 3 year contract, so we can expect 3 more years of the same. I was there friday morning helping a friend set his car up. I did like a few the cars but most I had seen before, there was a out of site 56 ford car full custom. I was lucky I did not have to pay to get in, I bet the ones that paided was disapointed.

I have been sitting at my computer for half an hour trying to decide what to say!
I know that alot of you would say stut da but I didn't !
This isn't a cut and dried issue. But lets touch on a few items.I have been around
this scene for 25 years and been on both sides of the fence.
1 Our economy sucks so the pool of cars is smaller !
2 The cost of campaining a car has gotten stupid !
3 Interest in building "show cars" is less.!
4 Age of money guys has gotten older I didn't say old.!
5 Guys would rather build a driver than a show er !
6 The car community is over exposed !
7 AMBR was stolen and moved to LA ! {reason we quit going ) !
8 John Q public doesn't want to look at primered cars !(they don't get it ) !
9 Expenses to promoters have gone up too, so they pass it on to you and me !
10 Why spend a ton of money on something that some idiot is going to shread online
    because it isn't His bag.!
If you are still reading this cool .Folks it is a show thats all it is ! there is another
somewhere else next weekend . Some will be better than others .If you want to spend 25 - 30 bucks go If not don't .It won't change world history. If shit doesn't
change soon it won't really matter anyway. Its entertainment some movies suck too.
I am going to do something positive today work on my car maybe more us us should to that !

Thank you for your support !
    Bartels or James ?

I actually don't hate this car. If someone told me it was built in the late 40's, I really wouldn't be surprised. It looks like a car a guy would have built in the 40's or 50's if he wanted to make a poor mans Auburn speedster. It has a vintage awkwardness to it that only comes from an earlier decade.
    Anybody else see it?

  28. Yeah Bobby, was channelling some forgotten spirit there. I see the vibe you are talking about.

Out here in the Mid West we're trying to keep up with you guys on cutting edge show cars. These two showed up at this weekends Starbird Autorama

A simple statement in wretched excess. I think the two side by side 6-71 blowers with injection on top of the engine nicely set off the landau bars, kerosene lamps and running board rack.

And my favorite hi-boy with it's subtle blending of the Moon tank Bonneville look and the ever popular surfer woody style plus the unique grill treatment make this a package that would make even Chip Foose think twice about car design.
