Technical Cowl ID????

  1. Can anyone help me ID this cowl? I thought it was a Model A but it's all one piece.   4. Can you use this cowl on a coupe? What is a cowl in this shape worth (in case I can't use it)?

    I'm thinking it's a Briggs body model A cowl. HRP

    Definately 28-29 Model A Briggs fordor. It will not work with a coupe body as it is too wide. Typicly these do not bring much, but you can use the subrail extentions and floorboard risers on the other 28-29 model A cowls if your are rotted out. It does require a small amount of modification to this. Rod

    Also if the juntion box is not beat up a restorere would be in interested in it. Rod

    Yes it is a Murray Fordor cowl, the Briggs cowl looks very much the same but may have a cowl band. The woodwork differs between the two, and your cowl section was nailed on, the Briggs was nailed and the seam was leaded. I've got one of each and plan to make a good cowl out of them. Bob...........took a while to find this with all the upgrades and changes, but somebody my enjoy seeing the pile of parts I have for a future build using this type cowl. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=780228&highlight=1929+fordor

    Briggs Murray body 29 the same project I am doing you can see it on this site at My 1928 project. I can also post pictures of it.
