That roadster used to show up at the local swaps almost 5 years ago in that same condition. It hasn't been on the road in a loooooooooooooooooong time. It's pretty rough.

    WOW!
The engine is worth more than the car; no wonder that the seller is keeping it. Hope it hasn't been sitting uncovered with the plugs out! Little pickup still needs a resurrection, though.

Looks like it was a hell of a ride in its day. Too bad they dont want to part with the power as well.

There is something strange with the rear end and its mounting supports in the front. I'm lost on how it would work

It's a Vette IRS, those mounting legs are solid.

The body looks like a touring that has the back panel moved forward. Might be worth a few thousand, but not 5.

This is the text from the add:
NO ENGINE-NO TRANSMISSION- Body only. Been off the road for over 25 years. Was done over 30 years ago. A real rat rod done before rat rods were talked about. Was driven every day with a blown Boss 429 Engine pictured and a 4 speed. (NOT FOR SALE ) has a early Corvette rear end. Has disc brakes on the front. This needs to be torn completly down blasted and detailed. Front end only mounted with a few bolts. Needs restored. Radiator was moved forward to clear the big Boss engine. Can be set back very easy. This is a serious prodject and may take some motor skills to put back as it shoud be. Does not roll very good due to the 25 year old flat rotten tires. This truck is sold with a Bill of sale. $5000.00 is the firm price on it. NO trades at this time. Can bring to your house or shop within 75 miles of here for free on my Rollback. Serious inquires only. Remember it needs a lot of work. Thanks !!!

It makes me sad he call it a RR, it's a Hot Rod from way back when, but price doesn't match what I would expect it to cost. It's a nice rod, and another collum, another mill and trans and it could be a beautiful little trad rod!

I remember seeing that old hot rod more than 30 years ago,I have a photo of it somewhere.

It sounded bad to the bone,I would buy it today if the engine was included.HRP

wonder how long that boss motor sat outside with open spark plug holes. note the long flat tires. a different way to trash a motor....

  20. I like the little truck well enough, good hot rod fodder. I am afraid that the Cl poster has no idea what R.R. means, it looks as though it was a pretty nice rod at one time or another.

The semi hemi would be nice to own as well, but that little truck with my belly ****on would probably make me happy enough.

Has 32 front fenders, although they have the huge holes cut in them. Always wonder how hot rods like this end up in such a mess.

If it was at least washed up and clean, with some decent rollers on it, and showing it without the motor in it, the way you'd be buying it, I think it probably would sell for $5K. It's just presented really poorly. Lack of a ***le would bug me way more than the condition issues.

what 31Vickey said.....most likely the guy gave 5grand for it back in the day with motor.....has since sold motor....going for a bingo.....couldn't come up with anything else....

  26. I lucked into a boss 429 once, used it and let it get away. Wish I hadn't but you know what they say, "If wishes were fishes . . ."

The modern engine guys are saying that the 429 was not enough engine for the heads. I am so glad that I am not that smart I really enjoyed it even if it wasn't enough engine for the heads. ;)

Just too p*** time till one of you buy it, if 5g is to much. What is fair?

It never fails to amaze me as to how somebody could let the P.U. get into that bad of shape.Supposedly it was built in the 80's ,so everybody knew those were going up in value every year.SMH
