I wanted to run the non vented old school high finn-ed SBC valve covers with this BDS blower. But they have no breather provision.... what are my options? Im going to build a small tube/plate that bolts in where the fuel pump hole is to add OIL... But im afraid that withough the proper set up this may become my puke point? Any thought on this?
You need to install an oil fill tube on the blower intake with a vented cap... That'll be .02 cents please...... Thank you!..
I'm with deuces, the higher up the better Do it once, do it right. My idea of fun, 6-71, 642hp, 570ft/lb, 11" tyre, 4.56 out back and two gears....
I guess some of you are not familiar with how big an 8-71 is. There is no extra room. Olds 455 run the oil fill exactly where I want to run the adapter on the Chevy? Is there any reason that that fill tube properly outfitted should not work?
Will the add-on style that fit the side of a valve cover fit on an end of the V/C? I'd be worried about having my fill so low on the block but i worry about alotta stuff that don't mean nothin.
I am not sure? I would of course raise the filler tube to be even with the intake, Im good at hidding stuff. Thought about at the top of the filler tube also adding a crank case evac hidden and ran to the first exhaust tube underneath?
I have driven my rod with a 871 blown 409 for 13 years on the street and have a oil filler located where the fuel pump was, just as you enquired above. My filler pipe is 8" long with a breather cap. I have also added two Moon breathers to the valve covers as well. In the oil filler tube, I placed a Moroso rubber oil filler gromet to prevent oil from backing up the tube, however; it works perfect.....
