Hi- has anyone has experience putting a early 2 carb intake without the rear breather on a 53 engine that had a road draft tube- a friend of mine has done this and gets oil on his windshield- he only has the oil fill at the front of the intake and no down draft tube- the oil fill has a few holes drilled in the side for a vent and a piece of something shoved inside. I was considering putting a breather on the oil fill tube and a pcv system on the intake manifold- are there any other ways of doing this to vent the crankcase/ the late engines have the tube coming up from the crankcase that vents into the down draft tube, but there is no hole in the early intake to use this original system- thanks
Early engines had a vent on the right front corner of the pan & a breather at the fuel pump stand. You've got a situation where you don't have any flow or relief. You can run a PCV system - try a search - well covered (also in tech archives)
