  1. That's some nasty stuff that was under the filler. It would be nice for whatever shop did that mess to kick back some bux to the OP so he can fix it right.

I was reading in a '57 Annual once that they drilled a bunch of holes then used a chisel to knock the rest out when creating a mounting hole for '50 poncho lights on the back of a '34 coupe. Hahahaha!!!!

  5. Enough is Enough, get the stones to man up and contact the man himself. What good does it do to piss and moan on here when we can do nothing?

  6. I'm not shocked at all... you can cover a lot of sins with bondo and paint... some guys have been doing it for years!

One of the pictures shows GENE WITH HIS HAND ON THE FUCKIN' CAR. I think he was familiar.

And as noted - he cashed the check. I've met Gene. I like Gene. I bought a DVD, a T-shirt, his book, and I happen to think that the Jade Idol is the most beautiful custom of all time.

But the OP got fucked big time, and the money ended up in Gene's account.

As a customer that relied on a 'quality shop' to do quality work, I can relate to the OP.

You talk to the shop/owner...you feel good about their reputation...you bring your car in and let them do their 'magic' only to find later that sub-par work was performed after you paid big bucks....it hits you in the gut...

You feel raped...it ain't fun...fuck the big name reputation, I'd let people know like this guy did.

I think that sucks that you slam his name here on the world wide web! You should of dealt with this issue with him directly. Slamming his name here to hurt his reputation is a low blow. This post should be CLOSED.

I wouldn't say the OP is pissing and moaning. Just showed the work that was done.

    I heart Cole...

I saw a old 50s kustom chevy that a local guy bought. Wow..I woulda never let my wife or kids in it. Scary underneath. Seems fairly typical of old style kustoms. Still shitty to spend that kinda jack on tho..

You didn't read the part where Gene is ducking him...???? Obviously, Gene knows that he screwed him over and doesn't want to face him.... Well, now the "famous Gene Winfield's" crappy work is being shown all over the net and everyone will know how work is done down at "Winfield's Rod and Custom"..... So Gene, if you are "the man" as everyone is defending you to be, step up and pay back the money for this crappola job that you did or offer to fix it and fix it fast.... $15,000 hard earned dollars that you cashed the check for and what did the owner get for it???? Nothing but crap and headache and people defending the "famous Gene" and now the work has to be redone... What an joke of a rod shop.....:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

I second it.... enough is enough..... this should be or should have been worked out between GW and customer..... and I don't think all sides have been addressed.

    IMHO.

Enough or if Ryan wants to open it back up than so be it......
