Patina isn't to welcome here unless it's real, and then sometimes not even that.

There are some posts covering this topic, and technique varies, sanding, rubbing, scratching...etc

Although not considered "traditional", and better answers can be found on other sites, the question was asked, and it deserves an answer, not bashing, imo.

There are many methods. The most common is applying multiple coats of varying color coats of "paint" (primer, paint, more primer, paint, etc), then sanding through the layers to achieve the desired effect.

You're a Vet? Thank you for your service, sir.

He knows more about old cars than you will ever know...He's a VietNam Vet who has earned the right to have his question answered with a legitimate answer, or you can simply ignore the thread. 9. Spike TV had an episode of Trucks where they did a fauxtina truck, try the web site maybe you can view an old show. They did a bunch of layers and even used a paint roller and a brush.

Do what you dig and don't worry about any other opinions. If you like patina, go for it, but please correct the spelling in your ***le :)

There is an article in the newest Street Rodder magazine regarding the topic and maybe that will help (September 2010).

    Good luck on your project!
