Cross breeding?

    Are you sure you arent thinking 41 and later merc? which wasnt wider, but streched a few inches behind the wheels, 40 merc is basicly a rebadged ford with a different grille and on coupes a different roof line

    IS a 40 Merc clip wider than a 40 Ford?
    The extra length in the 39-40 Mercs is in the body shell.
    The later Mercs use the Ford Body shell and a longer nose.

    I'm sorry, your mistaken, the 40 Merc in all forms is definately a different platform than the Ford....

    I'm more farmilliar with '45-'48 mercs, so i'll have to believe ya.

    I would look for a different cab,an earlier one. i think it would flow better.:rolleyes:

    IMO
    You would need the earlier rear fenders also to make it look right.
    Plus if that’s the front end your planning to use (pictured) ? That would be a shame….killing that sedan to build a truck……….dumb

    Cross breeding is fine, just be carefull sometime the kids come out funny looking.
